How to check Verizon Wireless Application Status and switch to Verizon?
You want to switch to Verizon for your new cellular network or check Verizon Wireless Application Status?
Let me give you a little secret: Verizon wants you to switch, so they make their process super easy, and I'm going to make it even easier by walking you through four simple steps and asking you to answer some frequently asked questions to help make this process and this transition as easy as they can be.
Switching carriers is really easy, but it can feel daunting because there are a few steps that are a little confusing. But millions of people do it every year, and if that gives you any hope that you can do it, then keep watching because I'm going to help you get through it. I'm going to give you four really easy steps to get you off of your current carrier and on to Verizon; it'll be easy peasy.
The next question is: Is Verizon the best carrier? And it all depends on how you define "best"; does Verizon have the most coverage? If that's how you define best, then Verizon is the best; however, they are the most expensive, so if that's important to you, that might take them down a notch.
The next question many people ask is, "Is it free to switch to Horizon, or does it cost?" And the answer is, "Yeah, it's free." "Verizon isn't going to make you pay to come to them; they're only going to make you pay to use their service." So if you want to switch over, don't worry about having to pay any fees or anything like that.
The only thing you should be somewhat worried about is if you need to pay off any early termination fees with your current carrier or any other fees that you may have missed or don't know about with your current carrier, and that's the only thing that will cost you.
Another commonly asked question is, "Will Verizon pay for me to switch?" and the answer is kind of yes and no. Verizon constantly rotates through a variety of switching deals, so for example, right now they're offering a deal where if you port over your cell phone number and bring your own device and switch to Verizon, they'll give you $450, so in that regard, yes, Verizon will pay you to switch, but that could change in a few months, and then there are also tons of other switching deals, such as if you switch to Verizon and add a new line.
By going to the website Verizon Wireless Application Status, you can type in your phone's IMEI number, and Verizon will report back to you immediately if your phone is compatible. For the most part, if your phone is newer than 2017, it should work on all carriers, but that isn't always the case. Keep in mind that if your phone is older than 2017, you may have trouble switching to Verizon from other carriers.
If you don't know where you can find your imei, you can usually just dial *#06# to get the 16- or 15-digit long number, and if that doesn't work, you can go into your phone's about settings, scroll down a little bit, and you'll find your imei number there. If you bought your phone from your current carrier, it might be locked to their network, meaning you won't be able to switch it over.
To unlock your phone from either of the major carriers, I have a playlist over here that you can watch to learn how to do that. If you remember, the next step is to make sure your cell phone number is compatible if you want to port your number over to Horizon, and all you need to do to make sure your number is compatible, which I'm showing you on the screen right now, is type in your cell phone number, and Verizon will tell you right away if your phone number is compatible.
If you want to bring your own phone to Verizon and get a plan online, you'll have to check out using a very specific tab on Verizon: Shop, then scroll down a little bit and go to the side, and then click Bring your own device, and from there you can select a plan and bring your own phone, and you'll be able to choose whether or not you want to port your number over as we go through the process. Verizon will go to your current carrier and get your number transferred over, and then Verizon will take care of canceling your current service for you.
So, if you want to be proactive and get ahead of the game, but then you want to cancel your service because Verizon doesn't have to or whatever, don't do it. If you are expecting or need to make any important calls, maybe have a friend or borrow someone else's phone for a little while because you may be out of commission for up to a day when your number reports over, but it usually takes less than a day and at least four hours, so just keep that in mind when you're going through this process. Now, I think that's it for how to switch to Verizon Wireless Application Status.
